Handwriting Worksheet Generator
Type any words, choose print or cursive, a letter size and the lines you teach with, and print tracing or copywork of that text: your child's name, the week's sight words, a Bible verse or a spelling list.
Free: 20 pages a month, no card. Plus trial: card required, nothing charged for 7 days.
Penmanship practice with your own text
A handwriting worksheet generator turns text you type into practice pages: the words printed to trace, or printed as a model to copy beneath. DittoSheets does both from any text, in teaching print or cursive, at whatever letter size the writer needs. When the practice text is something the student is already learning, such as a verse, a poem or a spelling list, the same ten minutes also build reading, spelling and memory.
One generator, every stage of handwriting
From a first name to cursive copywork, all made with the same tool.
One-inch Teaching Print, gray tracing letters. The first word most children write.
Teaching Print Arrow shows the stroke order on every letter. Trace the model, then copy it on the line below.
This week's sight words, traced. Change the list, print again.
A rhyme they already know by heart, so all their attention goes to the letters.
A spelling list as copywork: each word sits right above the line the student writes it on.
Romans 6:23 on two-line rules. Learning Curve cursive is free; two-line rules are Lite.
Why the model is right above the line
On a DittoSheets copywork row, the printed model is the exact size of the letters the student will write, and it sits directly above the writing line. The eye moves an inch, not across the page. Wrong size, wrong slant, a missed letter: all of it shows immediately, and the student fixes it without being told.
Tracing works the same way. The guide is a faded copy of the real letters, not dots or dashes, so curves and direction changes are visible while the pencil is on them. You choose how faded.
Copywork rows: model above, writing line below, same size.

From first strokes to fluent cursive
- Pre-K: their name and a few words at 3/4 to 1 inch, dark tracing, Teaching Print Arrow for stroke order.
- K to 2: sight words and short sentences at 1/2 inch, tracing fading lighter, copywork rows added.
- Grades 3 to 5: copywork of real texts at 3/8 inch, cursive introduced with tracing on, then off.
- Middle school and adults: 1/4-inch cursive copywork on two-line or bottom-line rules. A penmanship refresher from any text.
The same account makes all of it. On Plus, each student keeps their own font, size and line style.
Handwriting is step one
Because every sheet is built from your own text, the sentence a child traces today can print tomorrow as copywork, then as first-letter hints and memory lines, and be recited from memory by Friday. Handwriting practice and memory work from one typed text is the whole idea of DittoSheets.
DittoSheets makes much more than handwriting worksheets. The tour shows every sheet type, font, line style and teacher tool, and which plan includes each one.
